Argireline is a peptide that prevents the release of acetylcholine at synapses. Synapses are the communication structures between nerves and muscles. In fact, argirelin's shape is similar to the end of the SNAP-25 protein, and it competes with it to prevent the release of neurotransmitters. And if the synapses don't work, there's no muscle contraction. This serum created by The Ordinary contains 10% of argireline, and has a slight but perceptible action on dynamic wrinkles around the eyes.

Description

Argireline is the brand name for the acetyl hexapeptide-8 peptide created by Lipotec S.A.U. It was originally advertised as producing wrinkle-smoothing results similar to Botox, but this is simply a marketing claim. However, this serum can improve dynamic wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. This minimalist formula, with just 11 ingredients, is formulated without alcohol, oil, silicone or gluten, all in a comfortable pH range between 6 and 7. Its main active ingredient is Argireline concentrated at 10 %. This is the trade name of the acetyl hexapeptide-8 peptide developed by Lipotec S.A.U. According to marketing claims, this ingredient has botox-like properties and is therefore capable of smoothing wrinkles. Although it doesn't act like a botulinum toxin injection, its light texture can improve the appearance of the dynamic furrows of crow's feet and the forehead.

Beauty decoded's opinion

Several studies have been carried out, showing that there is indeed a slight effect on wrinkles around the eyes.
A study published in 2002 in which acetylhexapeptide-3 concentrated at 10 % was used found a 30% improvement in wrinkles compared to the placebo group. Another study showed an improvement in eye contour wrinkles of 48.9 %, in self-evaluation. So the effects of this light-textured serum are interesting, even if they're not as significant as a well-executed botulinum toxin injection.

How do I use Argireline Solution 10 % The Ordinary?

After cleansing your skin, apply a few drops of this serum to the forehead and eye area. Gently massage Argireline Solution 10 % into the skin, smoothing out wrinkles. Use twice a day, before thicker, film-forming skin care products. Don't forget your broad-spectrum sun protection.

When using for the first time, test the product on a small area of your face or forearm. Wait 24 hours. If your skin doesn't react, add it to your beauty routine.

In the event of prolonged irritation, discontinue use and consult your doctor or dermatologist.

What products should Argireline Solution 10 % not be mixed with?

Formulated with 10 % peptides, this serum is incompatible with acidic products containing vitamin C or fruit acids. In fact, the low pH of chemical exfoliants such as salicylic, glycolic, lactic or ascorbyl acid alters the effectiveness of the peptides.

  1. Cec -

I used a bottle, without too many results.

  2. Laura -

    I've been using 2 bottles 2 x a day every day and I haven't noticed any results.

  3. By_Hellex -

No visible results. Perhaps this product is good for preventing wrinkles... Otherwise, the texture is pleasant.

  4. Kara Leonor -

After hearing rave reviews of this peptide I gave it a go. A bottle later, I still don't know if it works 😃 but I'll keep going. That said I've got my eye on the Copper peptide which corner holds too, so why not remove a step in my routine? I'm counting on the doc to tell us 😊

  5. Kara Leonor -

I'm back to give my opinion because it's worth it. I stopped using argeriline for a few weeks and realized that the wrinkles around my eyes were deeper, so I took the product again and it's gone. Frankly, it works really well! However, doc, the scientific name is Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, not 3 😉 In short, I'm not telling you to use TO's product, but look for the name of this molecule in the ingredients, and there are quite a few of them now.
