Description

Retinol is one of the most scientifically studied active ingredients for its anti-ageing and anti-facial blemish properties. Retinol products should not be used by pregnant women. This water-free, alcohol-free, gluten-free, silicone-free formula boosts cell regeneration, erases wrinkles and fine lines, and reduces hyperpigmentation. But beware: at this dosage, this product can cause redness and significant skin reactivity. This serum is therefore intended for people who have developed a good tolerance to retinoids, notably by using lower concentrations such as retinol 0.2 %, 0.5 % or even less irritating derivatives such as The Ordinary's retinol granactive 2 %. An effective, low-cost anti-aging formula that also combats excess sebum and acne.

How do I use Retinol 1 % in squalane?

A serum with a high retinol content that guarantees effectiveness, but also irritation if you don't start gradually. That's why I recommend you start with the same skincare products, but with lower concentrations, such as retinol 0.2 % in squalane or 0.5 %. If your skin passes this stage, then apply retinol 1 % every other or third night, depending on your skin's reactivity. Don't forget to moisturize your skin. In the event of persistent irritation, stop using this product and make an appointment with your doctor or dermatologist.

In the evening, after cleansing, toning and other light, watery-textured skin care, massage a few drops of your serum into your fingertips, avoiding the eye area. Continue your beauty routine with thicker skincare products. The next morning, apply broad-spectrum U.V. sun protection, as retinol sensitizes your skin to the sun. The Ordinary recommends storing your product in the fridge.

Which products should Rétinol 1 % in Squalane not be mixed with?

During your retinoid adaptation period, don't apply exfoliants (such as fruit acids or glycolic acid) or vitamin C, especially if your skin is sensitized. After this period of tolerance, you can incorporate a vitamin C treatment into your beauty routine in the morning. However, don't use L-ascorbic acid and retinol at the same time, as their pH levels diminish the action of these two active ingredients.

Excellent retinol that I tolerated extremely well at a time when I couldn't use PC 1% daily because it was too irritating, so this one allowed me to apply retinol every night! Very pleasant texture and excellent value for money!
