The true nature: occlusive, not moisturizing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A good moisturizer is based on three complementary categories: humectants<\/a> (which attract water), emollients (which soften the skin), and occlusives (which limit evaporation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, the balance is off, with the formulation ingredients listed first\u2026 Occlusives and fatty substances dominate by a wide margin (paraffin, beeswax, cetyl palmitate, shea butter), while humectants are virtually absent: no free glycerin, only propylene glycol at the very end of the list, in a negligible amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In practical terms, this cream forms a film that slows down water loss through the skin. It \u00abseals in\u00bb existing moisture but does not add any.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For whom, then?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s where the phrase \u00aball skin types\u00bb warrants some clarification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On very dry skin, this occlusive formula is a benefit: the oily film reduces dehydration and temporarily smooths out fine lines caused by dehydration. Provided you first apply a serum rich in humectants <\/strong>(hyaluronic acid, glycerin), which the cream will then lock in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On oily or combination skin, however, this high concentration of occlusive ingredients may not be well tolerated and could make the skin feel heavy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another point to keep in mind regarding its most popular use as a makeup base: its high oil content means it isn't the best choice for those with oily skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concentrated Cream Milk is neither a good nor a bad product in and of itself. It is an excellent occlusive and emollient. Its \u00ab6-in-1\u00bb versatility stems primarily from its nourishing texture, not from a wealth of active ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When used properly on dry skin as a sealing layer after a moisturizing serum, it has been effective for 75 years. But \u00absuitable for all skin types\u00bb remains a marketing slogan, not a factual statement about the formulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
