This oil is obtained by hydrogenation, a process which consists in adding hydrogen atoms to vegetable oils, thus transforming these liquid oils into solid or semi-solid lipids.
The general term "hydrogenated vegetable oil" encompasses several blends of plant-based oils used in cosmetics, including rapeseed, safflower, sunflower, sesame, palm, coconut, soybean and olive oils, among others. These oils offer varied chemical compositions, with different levels of beneficial compounds such as antioxidants and fatty acids.
This ingredient is created by adding hydrogen atoms to vegetable oils through a process called hydrogenation.
