Role: EMOLLIENT/SOLVENT

Family:

Comedogenic index: 0

C10-18 triglycerides, esters of glycerol and saturated fatty acids, are mainly derived from vegetable oils such as olive or palm oil. Used in cosmetics, they act as emollients, improving the texture and softness of skin and hair care products, and facilitating their application.

As skin-maintenance agents, these triglycerides reinforce the epidermis' natural hydrolipidic film, limiting skin dehydration and offering protection against external aggressions.

They also act as solvents, helping to disperse other substances in formulations and improve their stability.

Commonly used in cosmetics, C10-18 triglycerides derived from vegetable oils are valued as emollients, skin care agents and solvents. They not only add a pleasant texture to products, but also strengthen the skin barrier and contribute to the stability of formulations. Apart from cosmetics, they are also found in animal fats, dairy products and vegetable oils.
