What is "COCO-CAPRYLATE" and what does it do?
Role: LIGHT EMOLLIENT
Family: Esterified oil (Esterified emollient)
Comedogenic index: 0
Coco-Caprylate is a clear, colorless to slightly yellowish oil that makes the skin soft and smooth (emollient), spreads easily over the skin and is used as a good alternative to volatile silicones (which are not absorbed by the skin but rather evaporate). Coco-Caprylate is obtained from coconut fatty alcohol and caprylic acid.
It's a light emollient. Emollients create a fine barrier on the skin to lock in moisture. This helps keep your skin moisturized and soft.
Once applied, Coco-Caprylate is rapidly absorbed, leaving a silky feel. It can help solubilize other ingredients or evenly disperse other ingredients.
