Family: POSSIBLY COMEDOGENIC INGREDIENT
Comedogenic index: 4
Isopropyl Palmitate is a texture improver and emollient used in cosmetic products.
It can cause blemish problems for people with oily skin, depending on the quantity in the product and your skin's reaction.
Isopropyl Palmitate can be synthetic or derived from plant and animal sources. It is an ester of palmitic acid and isopropyl alcohol. Palmitic acid occurs naturally in plants and animals. Its structure, with a longer chain of carbons, hydrogens and oxygens, makes it much more lipophilic, enabling it to penetrate the skin easily. It is a colorless, odorless liquid.
