This emollient is an ester derived from oleyl alcohol and erucic acid.

As a skin-softening agent, oleyl erucate also acts as an occlusive agent, humectant and solvent in skincare products. An emollient obtained by esterification (oleic alcohol + erucic acid), it gives a rich feel to the touch.
