Cyla's Essence Initiale is a water-based lotion formulated around a particularly complete complex of natural moisturizing factors (NMF). It combines free amino acids (serine, glycine, histidine, lysine, glutamine, leucine, tyrosine, arginine, aspartic acid, phenylalanine) with other physiological components of the skin's hydrolipidic film: lactic acid, PCA (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid), urea and glucose. These molecules act by mimicking the natural constituents of the stratum corneum, promoting water retention in the superficial layers of the epidermis through hygroscopicity. Glycerine reinforces this humectant effect. Acetyl glucosamine, derived from glucose, helps support cell renewal and may modulate endogenous hyaluronic acid synthesis. Biosaccharide gum-1, a polysaccharide of fermentary origin, provides a light, soothing film-forming effect. The formula is free of fragrance and conventional preservatives (parabens, phenoxyethanol), with 1,2-hexanediol, caprylyl glycol and potassium sorbate. This product is particularly suitable for dehydrated, sensitive or reactive skin, as well as skin with a weakened cutaneous barrier. It is used as the first step in a routine, on clean skin, to prepare the epidermis to better absorb subsequent skin care products.

hydration maintained
I've been using the original essence in my evening routine for several months now, either on its own or as a humectant combined with another serum.
the pump allows you to set the desired dosage, which avoids wastage and keeps the product fresh for a long time. the purchase price may seem excessive, but I use it for at least 6 months.
it's also my indicator of whether the skin barrier has been altered, because I feel a slight tingling sensation when it has, so I can include a repairing active ingredient in my routine!

Not convinced
Following Cyril LAURENT, I bought his first product. Knowing how demanding he is, I had high expectations of this product. It tingled my skin, even though I can tolerate retinol, bha. I have oily skin and maybe this product is more for dehydrated skin.
This product did nothing for me. It's up to each individual to find the right ingredients for his or her skin.

I follow Cyrille on the networks and so wanting to support him I bought his first baby, big mistake... Irritated skin on the top of the cheekbones, I even peeled off.... Otherwise very nice pump and easy to dose

I love the adjustable pump (from 1 to 5) for dosing as required.
good size. very moisturizing. leaves a little time to massage in before it's fully absorbed, without leaving a greasy film, so you can continue layering without peeling. fragrance-free. a little expensive for my taste, but top formula.

Not at all for me
Oh la la what a disappointment...
I was expecting a must-have for my sensitive skin, but what a costly mistake...
My skin turned blood-red and the burning sensations were severe.
I spent 48 hours having to soothe my skin afterwards. I wouldn't recommend it at all for fragile, sensitive or reactive skin.

great. very dry skin
i buy it again and again. i use it alone before my moisturizer in the morning. in the evening i mix it with various serums and sometimes retinol. i'm a fan and above all: if one day it tingles, i know i've gone too far with an active ingredient. i reduce it until the essence no longer tingles ... and then i start again because i'm always overdoing it.

I liked it
The downside is the price, but it lasts a long time, about 3 months. I like the fact that you can choose your dose of product. It's packed with ingredients, which means you can lighten your routine, so in the end, it's pretty cost-effective. It moisturizes well, the texture is liquid and melts like water, there's no fragrance, which is great for sensitive skin, and it doesn't sting the eyes. I'll buy it again, but it's still expensive for a simple lotion.

dry lines on the cheeks disappear, skin is plumper.
Keeps skin moisturized after washing.
I set the dispenser to 2 and that's enough for the face and neck, which should be left slightly damp before application.
