This chemical peel solution from The Ordinary combines alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) with beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) for skin exfoliation with a dual mechanism of action. Glycolic acid, the main AHA in the formula, acts on the surface by breaking the bonds between corneocytes, promoting cell renewal and radiance. Lactic acid, tartaric acid and citric acid complete this exfoliating action, while contributing to pH balance. Fat-soluble salicylic acid (BHA at 2%) penetrates pores to dissolve sebaceous plugs and exert a keratolytic and slightly anti-inflammatory action. The formula incorporates soothing and moisturizing agents - panthenol, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, glycerine and aloe vera leaf water - to limit post-exfoliation irritation. Tasmannia lanceolata extract provides antioxidant properties. This product is suitable for dull, uneven, acne-prone or enlarged-pore skin, but is not recommended for sensitive or reactive skin. Its use should be occasional (maximum once or twice a week), followed by sun protection as AHAs induce photosensitization.

Extremely efficient
With the recommended duration, it really exfoliates the face if you're content with one application a week. Probably irritating for fragile skin. Its lovely red color means you won't forget it when you rinse.

a must-have for me for years. the product takes some getting used to at first, but the complexion is super smooth and evened out, it eats away dead skin well. of course, for the first few applications, you have to take it easy, leave it on for 2 minutes and increase the time after that, etc.

easy to find
I've been using it for years because my skin is used to acids (Neostrata in particular).
Despite numerous warnings, I never had any reaction, perhaps a slight tingling sensation for the first few seconds.
However, I'm very careful not to use it on my cheeks as I tend to blush in this area.
I have to say that I always use a moisturizing mask afterwards and I don't use vitamin c the day I use it.
I advise you to consider it and see what the possible side effects are.

this product is really great but should only be used a few times a month, i would say maximum 1 time a week (and still) so as not to aggress the skin. if it stings slightly during application, this is not bothersome and the pores are tightened.

Caution
As I have sensitive skin, I only use this peel every 2 weeks and I scrupulously respect the 10-minute application time. I always apply it to dry skin, otherwise it stings too much. If it still itches too much, I rinse off after 5 minutes and apply Niod's Modulating Glucosides.

A powerful exfoliant
This is a highly active exfoliating solution with a high concentration of active ingredients. It is effective, but must be used with care to avoid damaging the fine skin on the face.
I use it regularly on areas of the body to help remove some marques or stains. Very satisfied with the results.

I had bought it a little out of spite, as the scrub I usually used was out of stock. I was not disappointed. My skin was brighter and smoother to the touch. I use it once a week (except in summer), respecting the application time and applying a mask immediately afterwards.
