This peeling mask from Martine [Skin] is based on a combination of exfoliating acids with different levels of action. Lactic acid (AHA) and glycolic acid (AHA) promote cell renewal by dissolving the bonds between corneocytes, refining skin texture and improving radiance. Lactobionic acid, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), acts more on the surface with superior skin tolerance, while providing moisturizing action via its ability to bind water. Tartaric acid completes the complex, supporting the efficacy of the other AHAs. Arginine plays a buffering role to modulate the formula's pH and limit potential irritation. Glycerine and propanediol help maintain skin hydration during the exfoliation process. Tocopherol (vitamin E) provides antioxidant protection. This product is suitable for dull, irregularly textured skin or skin with slight hyperpigmentation. Due to the presence of strong acids such as glycolic acid, it is not recommended for very sensitive or reactive skin, and sun protection is essential for regular use.
