Brand French dermatology since 1992.

SVR (Simone et Robert Veret) is not a marketing brand born of the skincare trend. It's a historic dermatological brand, sold in pharmacies, with a clear editorial line: clinical rigor rather than storytelling.

01

Concentrations indicated on product data sheets

Retinol 0.3 % / 0.6 % / 1 %. Niacinamide 5 %. Azelaic acid 15 %. Triple molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Most consumer marquess avoid this transparency - SVR has made it standard.

02

A range for every skin problem

A-B3-C for anti-aging, Sébiaclear for blemishes, Topialyse for atopic skin, Sensifine for reactive skin, Sun Secure for photoprotection, Cicavit+ for healing. A segmented approach that avoids «catch-all» formulas.

Note from Dr Sylvain David

«SVR is the brand I recommend to patients who want dermatological-quality retinol without the need for a prescription, and who are looking for reliable photoprotection to accompany an anti-aging protocol. The galenic formulation is reliable, the concentrations well-documented and the accessibility good. It's not the most innovative brand on the market, but it's one of the most reliable.»

The six ranges cover almost all skin problems - but with the following exceptions a limit on one of the SPFs, detailed below in the product analysis.

⛔ Sensitivity verdict Unsuitable for sensitive skin (score: -3). Tingling on application reported. Gradual introduction recommended on non-reactive oily skin.
«Blemish score 95 - best in the SVR catalog. Feedback confirms tingling on application and possible desquamation when combined with other exfoliating active ingredients. This formulation is a relevant option for oily skin with tolerant imperfections. For sensitive skin with imperfections, prefer Sebiaclear Concentrated Serum (gentler formula). »

User feedback
★★★«Tingles on application and the next day. The combination of salicylic acid + alcohol is not suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.»
★★★★«Keeps its promises but tingles and the alcohol dries it out. Works best combined with a calming serum beforehand.»
★★★★«Use as anti-redness and to smooth the skin. Excellent product for targeted use.»
★★★★«For 15 % azelaic acid, less effective than some competitors on established stains - but decent tolerance.»
Verdict - TOP imperfections (95) for oily/combination skin. Not suitable for sensitive skin without tolerance period. Gradual introduction mandatory.

✅ Sensitivity verdict Suitable for sensitive skin (score: 0).
⚠️
Formulatic limit to know : this formula does not filter long UVA (380-400 nm) Unlike Mexoryl 400 technology (La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400), this is a point to consider for a strict photo-dependent anti-aging protocol. For everyday urban use, coverage remains excellent.
«Sensitive skin score 0: neutral, suitable. Oily skin score 91: optimal profile for combination to oily skin. Daily sun protection remains the most documented anti-aging preventive intervention - SPF 50+ protection applied every morning is worth more than all anti-aging serums combined.»
User feedback
★★★★«My daily sunscreen for over a year: mattifying, blurring effect, without greasing the skin.»
★★★★★«Matte finish and SPF 50+ combined - hard to beat for city use.»
★★★★«Very good sun protection. Thicker texture than Korean sunscreens, designed for urban use.»
★★★★«Effective but a little thick for some skin textures. Holds all day.»
Verdict - TOP for everyday urban use. Controversial filter-free. Lack of long UVA filtration to be taken into account for strict anti-aging protocols.

Everything you need really know.

What's the difference between Bulb [A] and Bulb B3?
Ampoule [A] (retinol 0.3 to 1 %) is a corrective asset It stimulates collagen synthesis and accelerates cell renewal via nuclear RAR/RXR receptors. Ampoule B3 (niacinamide 5 % + triple AH) is a active moisturizer and barrier. The two formulations are complementary and can be combined in an evening protocol.
Is Ampoule [A] SVR compatible with pregnancy?
No. All retinoids - regardless of concentration or route of application - are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ampoule B3 represents the relevant alternative during this period, with a well-documented safety profile.
Is SVR suitable for sensitive skin?
This is the brand's historic positioning - the Sensifine range is formulated for hyper-reactive skin (positive sensitive skin score). Ampoule B3 is tolerated by almost all sensitive skins (score -0.5: slight caution). Ampoule [A] requires gradual introduction (score -2.2). Sebiaclear Flash Ampoule (score -3) is not recommended for sensitive skin without a tolerance period.
What retinol concentration should I start with?
0.3 % for all beginners, without exception. Apply 2 evenings/week for a minimum of 4 weeks. If tolerance established, can be increased to 0.6 % then 1 % in 2-month increments. SPF 50+ is mandatory in the morning throughout the protocol. Sensitive skin can remain on 0.3 % without going up.
Is Sun Secure Blur enough for a strict anti-aging protocol?
For everyday urban use - yes, very much so. For a strict anti-aging protocol (prolonged exposure, combination with retinoids), you should know that Blur does not filter long UVA rays (380-400 nm). In this respect, Anthelios UVMune 400 with Mexoryl 400 technology remains the benchmark. For sensitive skin and daily comfort, Blur SVR retains its advantage.
Can Sebiaclear Flash Ampoule replace prescription tretinoin?
No - they're two different molecules. Tretinoin (retinoic acid) is a prescription retinoid, the most active. Ampoule Flash contains azelaic acid 15 %, a complementary dermatological active ingredient - documented for mild to moderate acne and rosacea, with an excellent blemish score (95). For severe acne, tretinoin (or oral isotretinoin) remains indispensable on medical advice.
