Five strategies for formulation.

Formulations with an «Oily skin» score of over 80 and a «Normal to oily skin» score of over 90, containing modern filters and at least one mattifying or sebum-regulating agent were selected. This Korean formulation combines modern spectral coverage (Uvinul A Plus, ethylhexyl triazone, Tinosorb M, diethylhexyl butamido triazone) with a complex of plant extracts and probiotic ferments. The presence of rice extract in the second INCI position adds a moisturizing and antioxidant dimension characteristic of Korean skincare. The niacinamide at significant concentration offers a sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory dimension that complements photoprotection. Probiotic ferments (Lactobacillus/pumpkin, Bacillus/soybean) modulate the skin microbiome. How to integrate it into a routine.
Photoprotection should be applied as the last step in the morning routine, after the serum and any moisturizing cream. On oily skin, the use of a moisturizing cream can be limited or eliminated in favor of a photoprotection product with an integrated moisturizing dimension (such as Beauty of Joseon or Skin1004), which combines the two functions. This simplified galenic approach avoids the need for overlapping oily layers, and improves overall tolerance.
Advice application
The amount of photoprotection actually applied is the main predictor of actual protection. The documented reference quantity is 2 mg/cm² (2 mg/cm²), 1.25 g for face and neck (equivalent to two full fingers of product). This quantity is rarely reached in practice: applying half the amount reduces the effective SPF by around a quarter.
On oily skin, the sensoriality of the formulation directly conditions the quantity applied: a cream considered too greasy or sticky is under-dosed by the user, which partially cancels out the theoretical advantage of high protection.
Reapplication every two hours for prolonged exposure remains imperative, even for so-called «long-lasting» formulations. On oily skin exposed to urban conditions, reapplication mid-afternoon via a sun mist or sun powder is a pragmatic strategy without overdoing the make-up.
