Beta-carotene is a carotenoid. It is an antioxidant that converts to vitamin A. Antioxidants help fight free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that can damage your skin cells, like pollution.
It gives plants their orange, yellow color. Some foods containing beta-carotene include sweet potatoes, carrots, apricots and melon.
