What is BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER and what does it do?
Role: OCCLUSIVE
Family: KARITE BUTTER Shea
Comedogenic index: 0
Shea, known scientifically as "Butyrospermum Parkii", is grown mainly in Mali, Nigeria and Burkina Faso. Its fruits contain fatty acids, triglycerides, resin esters, latex, phytosterols and a rich blend of vitamins A, D and E.
Multiple benefits for the skin
Protection and Repair: Shea butter forms a protective barrier on the skin, helping it to defend itself against external aggression. This protection also strengthens the cornea's lipid barrier.
Intense hydration: Its ability to penetrate deep into the epidermis makes it particularly beneficial for dry, irritated and eczema-prone skin. Shea butter also regulates skin moisture, soothing it and leaving it soft and supple.
Cellular regeneration: Thanks to its rich content of unsaponifiables and vitamins, it promotes healing and soothes irritation. Its components may even stimulate the production of collagen and elastin fibers, improving the appearance of aging skin.
Presence in Cosmetics
Shea butter is the ingredient of choice in a multitude of products, from lip balms to hand creams and anti-wrinkle treatments. Its ability to provide skin with moisture and suppleness makes it a must in formulations designed to restore the lipid barrier, reduce feelings of tightness or even prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
