Origin and Extraction
The word "lavender" comes from the Latin "lavare", meaning "to wash". Lavandins are natural hybrids resulting from cross-pollination between two species of lavender: Lavendula vera and Lavendula spica. Among these hybrids, lavandin super stands out for its particular characteristics.

Lavandin super essential oil is extracted by hydrodistillation of the flowering tops. This process involves heating a mixture of water and flowers to vaporize the volatile molecules, which are then recovered by condensation. This process produces two distinct substances: the hydrosol and the essential oil. The essential oil obtained is a clear, light-yellow liquid with a lavender and herbaceous, slightly camphorated fragrance. It contains mainly ketones, such as camphor, and monoterpenols, such as linalool.
