Lecithin is a key ingredient in cosmetics, recognized for its moisturizing and emollient properties.

Multiple roles in cosmetics

This ingredient performs several functions in skin care formulations: it acts as an emollient to soften the skin, a water-binding agent to improve hydration, and an emulsifier to facilitate the mixing of oily and aqueous components.

Encapsulation and Dermal Delivery

It can also encapsulate a wide range of active ingredients, enabling better absorption by the skin.

Lecithin occurs naturally in many living organisms, but in cosmetics it is generally extracted from plants such as soy, sunflower or rapeseed. Its beneficial components include phospholipids, fatty acids and triglycerides, which contribute to skin regeneration.
