ENSULIZOLE is an organic sunscreen offering high protection in the UVB range (280-320nm), with maximum protection at 306 nm. It is relatively recent, having been approved for use since 1999. Its special property is that, unlike most sunscreen agents, it is water-soluble rather than oil-soluble, making it ideal for creating lightweight formulas compatible with oily skin. It's also quite photostable and can be used to protect other, less stable UV filters (such as the well-known UVA blocker, avobenzone) in the formula. It is approved worldwide and can be used up to 4% in the USA and up to 8% in the EU.
