This serum, formulated with 10% azelaic acid, targets acne-prone, oily skin and skin with irregular pigmentation. Azelaic acid, a naturally-occurring dicarboxylic diacid, acts through several complementary mechanisms: it inhibits tyrosinase, a key enzyme in melanogenesis, helping to reduce post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and blotchiness; it also has a mild keratolytic action promoting cell renewal, and antibacterial properties against *Cutibacterium acnes*. Pentylene glycol and propanediol ensure surface moisturization while enhancing the formula's skin tolerance. Sodium hyaluronate provides an immediate plumping effect by binding water molecules in the superficial layers of the epidermis. Extract of black willow bark (*Salix nigra*) completes the sebum-regulating action thanks to its phenolic compounds. Phytic acid plays a chelating role, limiting oxidation of the formula. This serum is suitable for combination to oily skin, skin prone to mild to moderate acne and skin with pigmentary sequelae. It is not recommended for very sensitive or reactive skin without a gradual acclimatization phase.

improves skin's appearance
I use the niacinamide serum and then this azelaic acid serum as part of my morning routine. I find that it improves radiance and skin texture, and I tend to have less shine on my forehead.
I like it

perfect for acne
i've always had hormonal acne and also pimples linked to clogged pores (blackheads). since i've been using this product in the evening, which doesn't irritate my skin at all, i've been treating both my pimples and the spots left by them. it's an essential part of my routine!

Formula too drying
Azelaic acid is a good product which, if incorporated into a routine, should be added gradually. Apply to dry skin, or after another serum which has been left to dry to avoid irritation!
Azelaic acid is compatible with very few products. Although non-photosensitizing, it is often fluffy because it is difficult to formulate. Many people therefore use it in the evening, after a niacinamide, alpha arbutin or hyaluronic acid serum. Avoid mixing it with exfoliating acids to avoid damaging the skin.
And that's what I find so distressing about the aromazone serum: it's formulated with salicylic acid... in addition to being a photosensitizing product, it's also formulated to be very drying for facial skin, all to sell a cheap serum. But in the end, you're damaging your skin more than you're allowing it to enjoy the benefits of Azelaic Acid. There are other serums that do better, because they're much less drying! Taking care of your skin barrier should be the basis of skincare in fact... failing that, aroma zone can be useful for other parts of the body where the skin is thicker (hands, back, of course don't forget the sun cream after application because of the salicylic acid).
As an alternative, I've adopted the one from the ordinary. It's formulated with silicones, so it's much less fluffy! I can therefore use it in the morning, and it also makes a good base for make-up.
Another rather economical solution, apparently Azéane is very good but I haven't tested it.
For those willing to pay the price and end up with a more complete, multi-tasking product, Nooance's Clarifying Care is a favorite among skincare aficionados.
Kind regards and take care of your skin ◡̈
