Salicylic acid (BHA) exerts a keratolytic and comedolytic action by penetrating pores to dissolve impurities and regulate sebum production, making it particularly suitable for acne-prone or oily skin. Papain, a proteolytic enzyme derived from papaya, breaks down the peptide bonds of dead surface cells, refining skin texture without aggressive friction. Rice starch (*Oryza sativa*) and microcrystalline cellulose ensure gentle mechanical micro-exfoliation during rinsing. Allantoin and colloidal oatmeal (*Colloidal Oatmeal*) exert soothing and anti-irritant effects, offsetting the irritating potential of exfoliating agents. Extracts of ginkgo biloba, green tea (*Camellia sinensis*) and licorice (*Glycyrrhiza glabra*) provide antioxidant, protective and light depigmenting properties respectively. Hydrolyzed wheat protein supports skin barrier integrity. This product is suitable for dull, enlarged-pored, irregular or blackhead-prone skin, but requires vigilance in very sensitive or reactive skin due to the salicylic acid/enzyme combination.
