Pure vitamine C La roche-Posay

A serum with pure vitamin C by La Roche-Posay. The composition contains 10% of vitamin C, which is a good dosage, but there's a but... the product is formulated at a physiological PH. At a PH of 5.5, pure vitamin C has difficulty penetrating the skin, which makes this product not very effective. I imagine they deliberately set the PH so high to stay in line with their approach to care for sensitive skin, but this comes at the price of an obvious lack of effectiveness. There's thermal spring water, which I think is an asset. There's also salicylic acid: why put an exfoliating acid in a product for sensitive skin? It also contains glycerine and hyaluronic acid, which are good, but unfortunately there's also alcohol and perfume, which can irritate sensitive skin.

Description

On the La Roche-Posay website, their serum with 10% pure vitamin C reveals the radiance of sensitive skin.

Vitamin C at physiological pH:

A study carried out in 2001 by Sheldon Pinnell, one of the founding fathers of skinceuticals, a group which, like La Roche Posay, is part of L'Oréal. This diagram shows the penetration rate of vitamin C into the skin as a function of PH, and this serious study demonstrates that PH must be between 3 and 3.5 for optimal penetration of vitamin C into the skin. In the case of Laroche Posay's vitamin C, the PH is 5.5, which means that the vitamin C hardly penetrates the skin at all.

So not only did I find no effect on my skin, but it's so thick it's not easy to remove from the bottle. If you overdose, it can turn your skin orange. What's more, the product becomes tinted as you use it, so much so that even when I put it in the fridge, I wonder if it oxidized as soon as I opened the bottle. In short, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone!
Very well done site that will be very useful to me from now on!

Disappointed by this product which I had had as a sample and so much the better.

Product I won't be buying again. Its orange tint tints the skin and transfers. I didn't see any effect on my skin. I didn't like the texture, which was too oily for my taste.

I only use this serum at night and in winter. I find that it makes my skin glow the next day, and I'm very satisfied. The texture is thick, the scent is pleasant, it colors the skin a little on application but there's no trace the next day.
