Melvita's Old Rose floral water is a light lotion whose main active ingredient is *Rosa damascena* hydrosol, obtained by steam distillation of Damask rose petals. This hydrolat naturally contains phenylpropanoid and terpene compounds - including citronellol, geraniol, linalool and eugenol - which give it soothing, slightly astringent and antioxidant properties on the epidermis. Polyepsilon-lysine, a polypeptide of fermentative origin, acts as a gentle antimicrobial agent, contributing to the microbiological stability of the formula without the need for conventional synthetic preservatives. This product is particularly suitable for sensitive, reactive or redness-prone skin, for use as an after-cleansing toner, refreshing mist or preparation base for subsequent skincare products. It should be noted that the terpene compounds present (geraniol, linalool, citronellol) are declared contact allergens: people with an allergy to natural fragrances should undergo a preliminary test.

Refreshing
I can't say whether it has any virtues, but it's pleasant to use and its refreshing effect soothes the skin.
