Its keratolytic action dislodges dead surface cells while regulating excess sebum, making it a relevant choice for acne-prone, oily or blackhead-prone skin. Propylene glycol acts as a humectant and carrier, facilitating the penetration of active ingredients, while xanthan gum ensures the texture and stability of the formula. The pH of the solution is adjusted with potassium hydroxide, an essential parameter for the effectiveness of salicylic acid.
