The Inkey List's Polyglutamic Acid product is primarily intended for skin that lacks moisture, is prone to dehydration, loss of radiance, or fine lines caused by dryness. My analysis of the formulation reveals the brand's desire to offer an intensive moisturizer capable of strengthening the skin barrier and optimizing water retention. This product fits perfectly into a routine aimed at preventing skin aging linked to dehydration and improving skin texture.

Formula Analysis: Key Assets

Three active ingredients stand out in this formula. First, polyglutamic acid, a moisturizing polymer capable of retaining up to four times more water than hyaluronic acid. It works by forming a protective film on the skin's surface, limiting water loss and providing an immediate plumping effect. Next, glycerin, a recognized humectant, attracts water to the surface layers of the epidermis, boosting hydration. Finally, saccharomyces ferment, derived from biotechnology, helps improve skin vitality and strengthen the protective barrier. The combination of these active ingredients gives the product remarkable effectiveness in improving skin suppleness and softness.

Tips and Application Ritual

I recommend applying this serum in the morning and/or evening, on clean skin, before your moisturizer. It is compatible with most active ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide. However, I would avoid combining it with powerful exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs) to limit any risk of irritation, especially on sensitive skin.

My Final Verdict & Safety Opinion

This product stands out for its powerful moisturizing properties, light, non-greasy texture, and good skin tolerance. Its fragrance-free formula limits the risk of allergies. The only possible downside is the presence of silicones, which may not be suitable for all skin types, but they do contribute to the softness of the finish. In conclusion, this is an excellent choice for restoring the skin's moisture and suppleness.

  1. Written review of the BeautyDecoded application -

    Odor and/or fragrance
This product was recommended to me because it contains hyaluraunic acid with a humectant effect 5000 times greater than that of a standard serum, which has a humectant/moisturizing effect of 1000.
I found this product pleasant to apply and even to wear, but what bothers me most and why I wouldn't buy it again is its smell or perfume.
It smells like ether, which I can't stand, hence the 3.5/5 stars.
