Best sun cream for dry skin
🏆 The best sun cream for dry skin
- Crème solaire SPF 50 Avène19,90 €
Let's start with the ideal creams for dry skin, the first of which is Avène's fragrance-free cream containing 4 recent sun filters, with uvinul A Plus, uvinul T150, Triasorb and tinosorb S. So, filter-wise, we're on the high side, and it protects against blue light, which is interesting if you suffer from melasma. As for the texture, I find it rather average because it's not easy to apply, but I find it very effective and suitable for dry skin.

🥉The third best sun cream for dry skin
If you want a vegan product, you can opt for Typology's hyaluronic acid sun cream. The sunscreen contains 4 recent organic filters: UVINUL A PLUS, UVINUL T150, TINOSORB S, ENSULIZOLE and a mineral filter, titanium dioxide, which makes this sunscreen whitening. I should point out that a potentially comedogenic ingredient is quite high up in the formula, in 4th position. The texture is okay and it has a shiny finish, but I can recommend it if you have dry, sensitive skin.
🏆 The best organic sunscreen for dry skin
I had the opportunity to test La Rosée's organic apricot oil sun cream, which incorporates four modern sun filters: Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S, Ensulizole and Uvinul T 150. This cream stands out from traditional organic sun creams, often criticized for their unpleasant texture and mineral filter-based composition. The formula of this product is well elaborated, offering appreciable quality. However, it should be noted that it can leave a slightly greasy residue on the skin, and may stain clothing.

What's the best UV protection for dry skin?
Anti-UV skin care is essential, even indispensable, to protect the skin against the effects of the sun when we spend most of the day outdoors. It is doubly necessary for dry skin. It's important to find the right best sun cream. Rather than slathering sunscreen on your face all year round, serums or day creams containing a sunscreen filter are the perfect addition to your morning beauty routine. That's why we've put together a selection of the most effective anti-UV skincare products.
Although often used in summer, anti-UV skin care products are essential all year round. Indeed, contrary to what we might think, skin needs protection from ultraviolet rays even in winter. If you have dry skin, it's all the more important to take care of it.
Which UV protection product for dry skin?
If your skin feels rough, it's probably lacking in moisture. In this case, you're in the category of people with dry skin. Your skin is particularly dehydrated in summer, due to the sun, hot dry air or repeated bathing in seawater or a swimming pool. That's why you need an anti-UV skin care product adapted to your skin type.
To moisturize very dry skin with UV protection, we recommend a cream combining chemical and mineral filters, and a texture enriched with glycerin and olive oil. This type of product will moisturize your skin for 48 hours. Alternatively, you can choose a special dehydrating moisturizing milk containing vitamin C.
How to choose the right sunscreen for dry skin?
The first step is to determine whether you have oily, combination, acne-prone or dry skin. Here, we'll take a closer look at the different anti-UV skin care products available from the dry skin care. In this case, it's best to opt for a creamy, moisturizing UV protection cream, to give your skin maximum hydration. SPF 50 is generally better suited to this type of skin.
Secondly, we need to look at your phototype or, in simpler terms, your skin tone and hair color. There are currently 6 different phototypes, classified according to the skin's reaction to the sun.
- Phototype 1 is the most sensitive to light. It refers to white skin with freckles, which tends to sunburn more frequently. If you fall into this category, we advise you not to expose your skin to the sun for too long. The ideal anti-UV skin care product is one with SPF 50 protection to protect you from sunburn or skin burns.
- If you're fair-skinned, you'll be concerned by prototype 2. Generally speaking, fair-skinned people have a slow, light tan. When you have light eyes, don't forget your sunglasses, and for your face, apply a protective care product with SPF 50.
- Prototype 3 includes people with fair skin, dark eyes and hair, who tend to get sunburnt from time to time. On the other hand, if you're in Prototype 3, you'll tan fairly quickly. However, a high level of protection such as SPF 30 or 50 won't go amiss.
- Prototype 4 is for dark skins that tend to tan easily. However, when exposure to the sun is intense and long-lasting, there is always a risk of slight sunburn. Index 20 or 50 protection is therefore strongly recommended.
- Dark hair, dark eyes and brown skin will tan so quickly that they won't be subject to sunburn. As part of prototype 5, brown skins will need a medium protection factor between 15 and 25.
- The 6ᵉ prototype will be aimed at dark hair, dark eyes and dark skin. Tanning will be ultra-fast and without sunburn. Ideal sun protection will therefore be, on average, between 15 and 25.
How do I apply UV protection to dry skin?
Once you've made your choice from this multitude of anti-UV skin care products, you still need to know when and how to apply them for maximum effectiveness. Day creams are best applied in the morning, so they can be easily integrated into your beauty routine. All you need to do is cleanse your face, dry it and apply the cream in circular movements to ensure it penetrates the epidermis. You can then apply make-up as you wish. If you're going to be in the sun during the day, you can also apply a moisturizing, anti-oxidant foundation with SPF about 20 minutes before exposure. There are also compact powders with SPF 50+ that protect against cell-damaging UVA and UVB rays, which create pigmentation spots on the skin.
Once you've removed your make-up, cleansed and dried your face, it's time to apply your anti-UV cream or serum and carry out your usual beauty routine.
