How do you set up a basic beauty routine?
Establishing an effective beauty routine is essential for maintaining healthy skin and a radiant complexion. We know that even if you're interested in skincare products, it can sometimes be complicated to set up a routine. But a well-executed beauty routine can do wonders for your skin! In this article, we'll give you some tips on how to set up your beauty routine, plus explain the essentials and the steps to follow.
What is a beauty routine?
A beauty routine refers to a series of steps and products that we follow on a daily basis to take care of our skin. A well-executed beauty routine helps maintain healthy skin, prevent potential skin problems and treat targeted issues.
A basic routine consists of cleansing (twice in the evening) + moisturizing cream + sun protection (in the morning). It's important to get into the habit of following this basic routine EVERY morning and EVERY evening before introducing other skincare products into your routine. This could be an exfoliant once or twice a week, or a serum to add to your routine in the morning and/or evening.
If the "basic" products are not respected, you won't get the results you're looking for. It's pointless to apply even the best serum on the market to badly cleansed skin, just as it's pointless to hope for a radiant complexion without applying sun protection every day.
Setting up your beauty routine: the 3 essential steps
Daily cleaning
If cleansing your skin in the morning is not essential, unless you feel it is particularly oily, the double-cleaning is imperative. It is the cornerstone of any successful beauty routine. First cleanse with a cleansing oil or balm to dissolve all residues (impurities, make-up, sunscreen, etc.), massage in for at least a minute before rinsing, then use a cleansing gel to remove everything. You may find this complicated to hold at first, but consistency is key. Double-cleanse your skin EVERY day, without exception. Your complexion will be brighter and you'll be guaranteed to have fewer imperfections! You can choose the cleanser that suits you best, and change often if you wish. Beware of over-drying or stripping formulas: your skin shouldn't feel dry after cleansing.
My recommendation for cleansing balm Soft Reset Green Cleansing Balm from Hyggee. Very creamy, very soothing, fragrance-free, vegan and not tested on animals! The texture is really pleasant and thoroughly removes all impurities and make-up. It's very gentle, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
My recommendation for cleansing gel Straight from Japan come Hada Labo foam facial wash cleansers. A handy pump bottle that delivers a very, very light foam infused with hyaluronic acid to the skin, perfect for oily or acne-prone skin in my opinion since it leaves no oily film. The big plus? Its low price! And it lasts over time!

Moisturizing cream morning AND night
Moisturizing your skin in the morning and evening after cleansing is crucial! Even if you have oily skin. Moisturizing your skin helps regulate sebum production over time. If you have oily skin, choose a fresh, gel texture; if you have dry skin, choose a richer, more enveloping texture. For my part, I always use a light texture in the morning and a thicker one in the evening, as my skin is normal.
My moisturizer recommendation Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream. It provides rich, non-greasy hydration and nutrients for all skin types. It contains milk vetch root extract, well-known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. Coupled with shea butter and beeswax, this antioxidant helps restore skin elasticity. If you don't want to use several creams, this one can do the trick in the morning and evening!

Sun protection every morning
In the morning, after your day cream, it's sun protection mandatory! SPF 50+++! Do you think it makes your skin marques white, greasy or uncomfortable? Then you haven't tried the right one yet! There are highly protective SPF 50 sunscreens that are totally imperceptible. 90 % of skin ageing is due to UV rays, so applying a sunscreen means limiting brown spots, commonly known as age spots, and keeping your skin looking brighter for longer. Sunscreen also delays the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
My sun cream recommendation This one will make everyone agree. Light skin, dark skin, black skin, no white cast! A texture that penetrates super-fast, a light, pleasant fragrance and a big bonus: it doesn't sting the eyes! Personally, I have sensitive eyes and some sun creams make me cry all day long. I'm talking about Benton Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream SPF50+. To try it is to adopt it.
Consistency is key
Forget everything you know (or have!) and start with just these three steps. Little by little, you'll already see results on your skin, which will be really well cleansed, moisturized and protected. Only then will you be able to start looking at more active and targeted ingredients to treat skin problems.hyperpigmentationacne, etc.... Be patient!
