This micellar water from CeraVe is formulated for normal to dry skin, with a composition focused on maintaining the cutaneous barrier during make-up removal. It contains a complex of three ceramides (NP, AP, EOP) combined with cholesterol and phytosphingosine, structuring lipids that reconstitute the epidermis' intercellular lipid film, often weakened by conventional cleansers. Niacinamide (vitamin B3) completes this action by reinforcing the cutaneous barrier and modulating sebum production. The make-up-removing action is based on poloxamer 184, a gentle block copolymer surfactant, and disodium cocoamphodiacetate, an amphoteric surfactant of plant origin, which form micelles that capture impurities, sebum and make-up without mechanical friction. Glycerine ensures immediate hydration by attracting water to the surface layers of the epidermis. This product is particularly suitable for normal to dry, sensitive or reactive skin, as well as skin with a compromised cutaneous barrier, such as mild atopic dermatitis. Use on face and eyes without rinsing.

Not for me
Micellar water removes make-up well, but I don't like using this type of product. I prefer to go back to an oil make-up remover, which is much more pleasant to use in terms of sensoriality and without the need for absorbent cotton, which can irritate the face. So micellar water is gentle and effective, but a pleasure to use. Can be useful as a stop-gap measure.
