Paula's Choice CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser is a cleanser formulated for acne-prone skin with enlarged pores. Its main active ingredient, salicylic acid (BHA), is a fat-soluble keratolytic capable of penetrating the hair follicle to dissolve sebaceous plugs, reduce blackheads and exert a mild anti-inflammatory action on acne lesions. The cleansing base combines sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, a gentle surfactant of amino-acid origin, with sodium laureth sulfate, for effective removal of sebum and impurities without residue. Glycerine and panthenol (provitamin B5) offset the potential drying effect of cleansing by maintaining skin hydration and supporting repair of the epidermal barrier. Arginine, a basic amino acid, helps balance the formula's pH and has moisturizing properties. This product is suitable for combination to oily skin prone to blackheads, clogged pores and mild to moderate imperfections. It is less suitable for reactive dry or sensitive skin, due to the combined presence of SLS and salicylic acid.
Written review of the BeautyDecoded application -
perfect for normal skin
Cleanses stones and blemishes well. I usually use it after a cleansing oil or balm.
