The product Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% from The Ordinary is primarily intended for individuals seeking to combat dull complexion, pigmentation spots, and the first signs of aging, particularly wrinkles and loss of firmness. The highly concentrated formulation of pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid) positions this product as a powerful ally for stimulating skin radiance and evening out the complexion. My expert opinion: the brand offers a minimalist, water-free formula that maximizes the stability of vitamin C, but may cause a tingling sensation on sensitive skin.
Formula Analysis: Key Assets
Three key active ingredients structure the effectiveness of this treatment:
- Pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid 23%) : A benchmark antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals, stimulates collagen synthesis, and reduces pigmentation spots. Its high concentration guarantees rapid action on radiance and firmness.
- Hyaluronic acid spheres (2%) They provide immediate surface hydration, counteracting the drying potential of pure vitamin C and improving skin comfort.
- Squalane : This biomimetic emollient protects the skin barrier, limits dehydration, and improves the overall tolerance of the product.
The synergy of these active ingredients gives the formula remarkable effectiveness in promoting radiance and preventing skin aging.
Tips and Application Ritual
I prefer to apply this treatment in the evening, on clean, dry skin, before moisturizer. It is compatible with simple moisturizers, but I do not recommend combining it with exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs) or retinol immediately, to avoid irritation. During the day, it is essential to apply sunscreen.
My Final Verdict & Safety Opinion
Strengths: high vitamin C concentration, fast-acting on skin radiance and texture, short formula and fragrance-free. Downside: grainy texture and frequent tingling sensation, especially on sensitive skin. In conclusion, this product is intended for experienced users looking for visible results, provided that the precautions for use are followed.

Good product with vitamin C for oily skin.
My first pure vitamin C, it was she who showed me how well this active ingredient worked on my skin. Even if its galenic form is not adapted to oily skin, this suspension is very effective. I saw the effects on my skin from the very first applications. It tingles a lot, but the sensation disappears as soon as you put a moisturizer on top. However, it's not designed for oily skin and you inevitably end up with shiny skin. So I turned to a lighter, aqueous serum, and found my match in G&G's C-Glow.

Hello, the two products have very different galenic formulations.
I might have a slight preference for Cglow as it's easier to incorporate into a slightly complex routine.
I confess I never know when to apply TO Suspension. The texture is so «greasy» that it's hard to layer it with anything. Beginning? or middle of the routine? I don't know. Cglow is simply the first step.

Not too irritating
Not a pleasant texture, feels greasy and sandy and pills a little. Not too irritating if accompanied by a moisturizer. A little tingling at first, but it goes away. Good quality though. I'm going to get G&G's C Glow to compare.

An inconclusive trial
The texture of the cream is not pleasant, it's too thick. My skin type, combination, didn't tolerate it.
