Summer skin care mistakes to avoid
Many of you think you're doing the right thing by following tutorials on the Internet, or even grandmotherly advice, so let's take stock in this article with our tips and tricks to see the mistakes to avoid in your skincare this summer!
Aggressive scrubs
Commercial sugar- and salt-based micro-grain scrubs are not suitable for facial skin. Many people think that these widely-sold products will prepare the skin for tanning, or on the contrary, get rid of "peeling skin" after too much sun exposure. But they don't.
Micro-grain or other mechanical scrubs create micro-cuts in facial skin, leading to imperfections, bacterial proliferation and acne, as well as skin sensitivity and redness.
Scrubbing in summer is perfectly permissible, but chemical scrubs with very mild active ingredients are preferable. Lactic acid or mandelic acid are ideal for gentle exfoliation without damaging the skin. Use sparingly. Once or twice a week maximum when starting out, and in very small quantities in the evening.
Chemical scrubs require even more rigorous sun protection. You'll need SPF 50 sunscreen the very next morning, with or without prolonged exposure to the sun.

Inappropriate skin cleansing
In summer, we tend to wear a little less make-up. Not wearing foundation or bb cream for lounging on the beach or by the pool. Maybe you're a bit lazy about doing your skincare routine like you do the rest of the year, because it's the vacations... Well, even if your routine is a little lighter, don't forget the basics! That means double cleansing in the evening + moisturizing cream. This is one of the main mistakes to avoid! It's the minimum, and every night without exception! My recommendation? A rich cleansing balm, to get rid of all impurities, but also sun protection, pool chlorine or salt residue, followed by a gel cleanser suited to your skin type. Forget make-up remover wipes, even if many people think they're simpler! They don't deep-cleanse your skin, and over time you can build up bacteria and residue, leading to acne and other imperfections.

Careless sun protection
It makes me want to cry when I see supermarket shelves overflowing with milking grease, sun protection 10 monoi and other tan-boosting oils. The same goes for the hazardous and dangerous practices I see on the beach! Lemon on the face or body, baby oil for a better tan or even olive oil on the skin! All this is a big no-no.
Sun protection can be used all year round, even in rainy and cloudy weather. In summer, however, you need to be extra vigilant and use appropriate products! On the face, apply a minimum of SPF50 sun protection every 2 to 3 hours. Sticks and powders are available to make the task easier. Don't forget to protect your lips with a moisturizing lip stick that also contains a sun filter, even if it may be lighter.

For the body, an SPF 50 protection milk or spray will be perfect to protect you from sunburn and skin damage. Apply as often as possible, and at most every 2 to 3 hours. Don't forget hard-to-reach areas such as your back or the back of your legs, to avoid any problems.
