CeraVe Moisturizing Face Cream SPF 50 is a daily-use sunscreen emulsion formulated around a system of mixed UV filters: bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (Tinosorb S), ethylhexyl salicylate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone) and ethylhexyl triazine together provide broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. The formula includes three ceramides (NP, AP, EOP), cholesterol and phytosphingosine, which rebuild the skin's lipid barrier by mimicking the natural composition of intercellular cement. Sodium hyaluronate and glycerine exert a humectant action by retaining water in the superficial layers of the epidermis, while niacinamide (vitamin B3) helps regulate sebum production, reduce uneven skin tone and reinforce the barrier function. Tocopherol (vitamin E) provides additional antioxidant activity. The texture is enriched with shea butter and corn starch, which contribute to comfort and mattness. This product is particularly suitable for normal to dry, sensitive or barrier-weakened skin, as well as for skin prone to chronic dehydration requiring daily sun protection as part of their skincare routine.

good sun cream but greasy
Fluid texture, light and pleasant fragrance, but leaves an oily finish. Doesn't suit my combination skin as it's too oily.

I understand your point of view, as oily skin is (from what I hear) a real pain.
But it's funny how opinions differ from person to person.
So, until proven otherwise, I don't want any more of this brand because I've tried this cream and a balm.
These products were advertised as super-moisturizing and soothing, but they were a complete flop on my dry, dehydrated skin.
Also for me, the cream, milk and Balm lack something moisturizing to make me feel good!
That's why I regularly assert here that it's all a question of «shades» of skin, even within the same category.
Whatever our skin type, everyone can react differently to the same product!

solar or not?
I must say that I tried this cream to simplify my morning skincare routine.
The texture and the result on the skin suit me perfectly. No greasy or whitening effect, really perfect...
The only downside is its real protection: is it enough in summer?
When in doubt, I use it in winter and it's perfect.

A little too greasy and some ingredients I'd like to avoid
A little too rich for my combination skin, and I'll be looking for European (or Asian) sunscreens that don't contain potentially irritating avobenzone or potentially comedogenic compounds.

Pleasant to apply and wear. Has an invisible but slightly greasy finish.
