This liquid exfoliant relies primarily on 2 % salicylic acid (BHA), a fat-soluble keratolytic active ingredient capable of penetrating the pore to dissolve sebaceous plugs, reduce blackheads and refine skin texture. Its exfoliating action is both on the surface, promoting cell renewal, and in depth, which distinguishes it from water-soluble AHAs. The formula is completed by methylpropanediol and butylene glycol, which act as solvents and humectants, optimizing penetration of the active ingredient and maintaining a certain level of skin hydration. Camellia oleifera* leaf extract provides antioxidant and soothing properties, helping to counterbalance any reactivity associated with exfoliation. The pH of the formula is adjusted with sodium hydroxide to keep the salicylic acid in the optimum range of effectiveness (around 3 to 4). This product is particularly suitable for acne-prone, oily or combination skin, with dilated pores, blackheads or irregular texture. It is not recommended for very sensitive or reactive skin without prior advice, and requires the application of a sunscreen during the day due to the increased photosensitivity induced by exfoliation.

Highly effective
BHA is one of my favorite ingredients for oily skin.
I use it after double cleaning.
On the anti-aging side, my fine lines are smoother and my complexion is more radiant.
I also have fewer imperfections.
Be careful, this product is very strong and can dry out sensitive skin.

Not convincing
I find it greasy to the touch and, above all, it smells bad (probably the licorice extract). It's no more effective than cheaper alternatives. I didn't keep this product and turned to G&G or The Ordinary for their salicylic acids.

Perfect for acne-prone skin

Fine
Initially, I was using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant on my face, but it was a little too strong for me. So I opted for a gentler option from the same brand for my face. I now use this product to reduce the strawberry-skin effect on my body.
I apply it alternately with glycolic acid (never both at the same time), followed by a moisturizer like CeraVe Anti-Rugosités. This routine seems to work well for me!

The best
The best salicylic acid product. Some people find it irritating, but that's often because their routine contains products incompatible with salicylic acid, they use it too often, their skin barrier is already damaged (so it needs repairing first), or they don't moisturize their skin enough. Honestly, it's a very non-irritating ingredient. At worst, there's a «calm» version at 1 %, which is a little more expensive. But personally, with a very fragile skin barrier (genetically), mild dermatitis, mild rosacea, redness, and adult acne - not many pimples, but often big ones that heal badly and granular skin (let's go for the fun part) - this product is a godsend. I started off using it once a week, and now, a year later, I've gone up to twice, and I'm aiming for three, knowing that my skin is refractory to retinoids.
