Combination skin - the right routine for your two zones according to a doctor and analyses by BeautyDecoders.
Combination skin combines a shiny T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) with normal to dry cheeks. The challenge is to treat these two areas with opposing needs without sacrificing one. The right routine is based on gentle cleansing, light but sufficient moisturizing, and targeted care for each zone. Depending on whether your skin is oily or dry, you'll need different products.
What is a combination skin ?
The most common skin type. Combination skin produces excess sebum on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), where the sebaceous glands are most numerous, while the cheeks remain normal to dry. As a result, shine and dilated pores are often observed in the center of the face, with less comfort and even tightness around the edges.
This dual nature calls for a modulated routine rather than a single treatment applied everywhere - you can modulate by zone (lighter textures on the T-zone, richer ones on the cheeks), which we call «multi-masking» when applied to masks.
To which centre tilts your skin?
Not all combination skin is alike. To choose the right products, it's useful to determine which pole yours leans towards.
Normal to oily
The T-zone is clearly oily, the cheeks normal. Skin shines fairly quickly, pores are visible and imperfections are possible. We aim to regulate sebum without stripping.
Normal to dry
The T-zone is slightly oily, but the cheeks tend towards dryness and discomfort. We aim to moisturize and soothe, while keeping our textures non-greasy in the center.
The structure commune
Whatever your sub-profile, the structure remains the same: gentle cleansing morning and night (without stripping, otherwise shine will worsen), a moisturizing lotion, a serum targeted to your specific problem, moisturizing adapted to each zone, and above all, daily sun protection. Exfoliation with BHA, once or twice a week, helps de-clog the T-zone.
Oily tendency - zone T marked
If your T-zone shines quickly and your pores are visible, we prefer a gentle foaming cleanser, a gel-cream moisturizer and an oil-free sebum-regulating or anti-aging serum.

Mistakes to avoid
Treat everything like oily skin
Stripping the T-zone is hard on already fragile cheeks.
Skipping T-zone moisturizing
A dehydrated T-zone produces even more sebum.
A cream that's too rich everywhere
It weighs down the T-zone and encourages imperfections.
