Nivea Cellular Luminous 630* Anti-Dark Spot Day Cream SPF 50 primarily targets hyperpigmentation issues such as dark spots, uneven skin tone, and residual post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This product is designed for people who want to prevent and correct pigmentation spots while protecting their skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Nivea's formula stands out thanks to its combination of depigmenting active ingredients and very high sun protection, which is essential for limiting the appearance of new spots and optimizing the effectiveness of anti-spot treatments.
Formula Analysis: Key Assets
Three major assets catch my attention in this formula. First, the Thiamidol (isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol), known for its inhibitory effect on tyrosinase, a key enzyme in melanin synthesis. It thus acts directly on the formation of spots. Next, the presence of organic sunscreens (such as Tinosorb S, Avobenzone, Homosalate) provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays, which is essential for preventing existing spots from worsening. Finally, the’hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) provides intense hydration, promoting skin suppleness and repair. This synergy of active ingredients gives the product overall effectiveness in preventing and correcting pigmentation spots.
Tips and Application Ritual
I recommend applying this treatment every morning to clean, dry skin as the last step in your routine, before applying makeup. It is compatible with moisturizing or vitamin C serums, but it is best to avoid combining it with powerful exfoliating active ingredients (AHA/BHA acids) at the same time to limit the risk of irritation. Reapplication during the day is recommended in case of prolonged sun exposure.
My Final Verdict & Safety Opinion
This Nivea product stands out for its effectiveness in reducing dark spots combined with very high sun protection, a major advantage for skin prone to hyperpigmentation. Its light texture and non-greasy finish make it ideal for everyday use. One possible drawback is the presence of fragrance and alcohol, which may not be suitable for very sensitive skin. In conclusion, this is an expert, safe, and effective treatment for combating pigmentation spots.

avoid for sensitive skin
I hated this skincare product, which was uncomfortable, tingled my skin after a few uses and was not at all moisturizing for a dry, dehydrated and somewhat sensitive mature skin. It had no effect whatsoever on pigmentation spots, which I don't have many of, nor are they noticeable.
